The Calgary Region's unemployment rate saw a slight increase of 0.1 per cent to reach 8.1 per cent in November.

Calgary added 600 jobs in November for a total of 833,000. Calgary’s labour force also increased in November, with 1,900 people joining the workforce.

Alberta’s unemployment rate remained unchanged at 7.6 per cent in November. The national jobless rate decreased by 0.7 percentage points to 6 per cent, compared with 6.7 per cent in October.

The Wholesale & Retail Trade and Health Care & Social Assistance sectors saw the strongest gains last month, with 4,400 and 2,800 jobs added, respectively. The Manufacturing sector experienced the most losses last month, with 2,900 jobs lost in November.
