Mardi Gras Event Coming to Calgary
A Cajun themed dinner, entertainment and dancing to the music of the Kimberlites and DJ Blaze will be included. There will be a Dando Dance ballroom demonstration and attendees will learn to Mambo!
And much more!
Meet with the researchers and medical staff who will be there alongside lung cancer support groups. Together we can overcome the stigma and reality in Alberta where more than 2, 200 people this year will be alarmed to find they are at stage 3 or beyond and face the sobering news that they may die in the next 5 years! Research funding and action can find answers to the root causes and ways to earlier diagnosis – which may extend both quality and length of life.
Guest speakers to include:
Keon Raymond: Calgary Stampeder alumni
Dr Don Morris: Director of the Translational Cancer Laboratories, Alberta Health Services – Cancer Control.
Dr. Aaron Goodarzi: leads a research team into radiation exposure and has led him to advocate publicly for residential radon gas testing.
Dr. Nicole Culos-Reed is a Professor in Health and Exercise Psychology in the Faculty of Kinesiology, and a Professor in the Department of Oncology
