April is apps month at the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking!
Mobile apps have fundamentally transformed nearly every aspect of our lives.
Ordering food, making a grocery list, checking account balances, and communicating with others can be done through an endless list of apps.
We use mobile apps so much that we don’t even think about it.
Curious what it takes to build mobile applications?
Join us for a chat with leading experts and entrepreneurs in the mobile applications industry!
Each panelist will be sharing their experiences of how they got into the industry, tips and tricks, and mentorship advice for emerging professionals and entrepreneurs in this field.
Panel members are:
- Aidan Klingbeil is the Founder/CEO of MowSnowPros, an on-demand snow removal and lawn mowing app that he launched in 2016, a few years after graduating from the Haskayne School of Business. MowSnowPros is now available in over 10 cities across the country and has provided 400 individuals with the opportunity to earn a side hustle through their service.
- Alex T. is a Project Strategist in Technology at the University of Calgary Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, responsible for the design and development of the UCalgary Campus MApp. He is also the CEO of CoDesign Factory, a platform that connects software developer students with local entrepreneurs or startups looking for software solutions, providing students with project guidance and mentorship, and clients with affordable quality products. All of this while still being a University of Calgary Computer Science undergraduate student.
- Andrew Browne is a passionately curious and relentlessly motivated business leader and community builder. He is co-founder and CEO of Smartiks, a blockchain based ticketing engine that helps the live entertainment industry better manage how tickets are bought and resold. Smartiks was spun out of it's parent company TikTiks, a mobile ticket marketplace where sports and entertainment fans can buy and sell mobile tickets for their favourite events transparently. He also currently works as a Business Development Advisor for Startup Calgary, a Calgary Economic Development Initiative.
