After 15 years, Calgary Economic Development has outgrown our office space at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre.
With our lease expiring at year-end and staff spread over five floors at the Convention Centre and Global Business Centre, we have moved to The Bow Building at 500 Centre Street as of November 18th.
With a much larger mandate to drive economic growth than when we moved into the Convention Centre in 2004, the new location will improve functionality and organizational efficiency. We looked at several office-space options to meet our organizational needs. The Bow was the one that best met all our needs at no additional costs from our current budget.
Calgary Economic Development’s mandate has grown in recent years. We now operate four organizations: Calgary Economic Development, Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund, the Calgary Film Centre, and Startup Calgary. With staff all on one floor at The Bow, logistical efficiencies are created, as well as enhanced collaboration space and improved productivity.
Being in The Bow ensures Calgary Economic Development is close to City Hall and in the heart of our business community as we work to help local companies grow and thrive.
