Mayor Naheed Nenshi says Calgary should be the home to the Canada Infrastructure Bank.

Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi has made a strong case for Calgary to be the home of the new Canada Infrastructure Bank in a column in the Globe and Mail newspaper.

Mayor Nenshi said Ottawa has an historic opportunity to address the country's massive infrastructure deficit and the future of Canada’s financial services centre. He made the point Calgary's financial services sector has the skilled people and technical abilities to bring creativity and innovative thinking to the new bank. A decision on a head office for the bank announced last fall is expected early in 2017.
