As a new or growing business, having the most up-to-date information might be your edge to standing out in the crowd.

Calgary Economic Development has developed the Economic Indicators Interactive Dashboard, a first of its kind and top-of-the-line economic development tool for market intelligence.

Created in partnership with Localintel and funding from the CARES program – a Government of Alberta initiative – this dashboard offers the most current insight and information on Calgary’s economic indicators, demographics, business and lifestyle rankings, and a number of data products for download, such as employment counts for all occupations.

“Business and investors need reliable, up-to-date data when making decisions and finding it is not always easy. This is where the business intelligence tool can help. Businesses moving to Calgary can quickly learn why it’s a great place to live, work and play. And Calgary’s existing businesses can use the tool to keep track of the City’s performance across a huge number of indicators,” said Dave Parsell, Co-founder and CEO of Localintel.

Within this interactive dashboard, you will be able to gather insights into Calgary’s labour force and population, explore data for your own analysis, view products, or look at trends over time. This is also where you will find our recently launched Business Resources search, company lists for specific industries and report library, with sector research studies of the Calgary market. All the data refers to the Census Metropolitan Area (CMA), where existing businesses, expanding businesses, entrepreneurs and startups of the CMA can glean accurate, current information from the same place as their competitors.

Parsell adds, “data is this century’s most valuable resource and the Business Intelligence Tool is another example for how Localintel and Calgary Economic Development is harnessing it to strengthen the City’s economy and support new investment and business growth.”
