It’s a straightforward motto that aptly describes what one of the city’s most successful real estate firms brings to the table for its clients.
“What I often like to say is ‘experience matters,’ ” says Corinne Lyall, co-owner and broker of Royal LePage Benchmark.
“We’ve been around this market a long time, and that means we have a tremendous amount of market knowledge and expertise.”
Indeed, after serving Calgary for more than 40 years, the real estate firm has seen just about every possible market condition.
“We’ve really experienced it all, including in the ’80s when interest rates were sky-high and the energy industry was in a deep slump,” she says.
“So, while today’s market is undoubtedly tough, with the oil and gas industry struggling, at least we have low mortgage rates.”
Taking over from her mother, Jan Lyall — now retired, though still a co-owner — Corinne Lyall is continuing with the tradition of providing best-in-class service for the city’s buyers and sellers of homes.
Central to that is Royal LePage Benchmark’s focus on supporting its more than 140 full-time agents at four locations, including a satellite office in Vulcan.
“Our culture is one focused on paying it forward,” Lyall says. “That means that our new hires get a ton of help, not just from me, but everyone in the company, including our great administrative staff.”
Led by manager Chris Pitman — a recent addition with a wealth of market experience — Royal LePage Benchmark’s half dozen administrative support staff ensure its agents are able to provide top-notch professional service.
“Everyone here takes on the role of coach and mentor,” she says. “It’s all about collaborating to be better at what we do and celebrating each others’ successes.”
One reason the company is held in high esteem is Corinne and Jan Lyall’s commitment to professional standards.
Corinne Lyall, for instance, was president of the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB) in 2015 and had served on the board for several years.
The focus at Royal LePage Benchmark is centred on proven excellence.
“Thanks to our deep knowledge stemming from years of working in the business, we very much have that 30,000-foot view of the industry,” Lyall says. “And that helps our REALTORS® be better each and every day.”
