Haskayne Hour | How is the federation working today?: A scorecard
The Canadian federation embodies core goals affecting the social and economic well-being of the individual regions and their residents. These include: sharing of defence and national infrastructure costs; maximizing leverage in international agreements; minimizing barriers to the interregional movement of goods, services, labour and capital; provision of stabilization and insurance to offset regional instability; and interregional transfers in support of equity objectives. Join us to hear from Tim Hearn (former Chairman and CEO, Imperial Oil) and (Robert Mansell, Research Fellow, School of Public Policy, University of Calgary, and Emeritus Professor of Economics) for a presentation and discussion focused on how well the federation is working in terms of these objectives.
