What will it take to meet Calgary’s opportunity in the energy transition? How is Calgary uniquely positioned to become a net-zero leader?

Calgary has long been known as an energy city with abundant natural and renewable resources. Today, it is being recognized as a top cleantech ecosystem and positioned to be a global leader in the pursuit of net-zero.

In this New Economy LIVE event, we will explore what it'll take for Calgary to meet this $61 billion opportunity that could create 170,000 cleantech jobs by 2050. From investment and government leadership to skilled talent and industry collaboration, Calgary companies are focused on decarbonization and developing world-class technology to achieve this ambitious goal.

The event will feature a presentation by Chris Brown, Business Development Manager, Energy & Environment, on Calgary’s pathway to net-zero with findings from the Alberta Energy Transition Study and why the region is poised for transformational growth in six cleantech sub-sectors. This will be followed by a panel discussion exploring the opportunities in achieving net-zero and Calgary’s strengths in positioning our city as a global hub for cleantech innovation.
