MobSquad opened its new 16,500 square foot office in downtown Calgary, with plans to ramp up to a team of 150 software engineers and data scientists. MobSquad was the first recipient of funds from the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund due to its potential to be a catalyst for Calgary's tech ecosystem and talent pool.
MultiSensor is commercializing a new optical gas inspection camera that will lower the cost for the oil and gas industry to find, quantify and fix gas leaks. They established their subsidiary in Calgary due to Alberta's leadership in reducing methane emissions, highly skilled local personnel, the availability of shared test facilities for start-ups at SAIT and to be close to decision makers in the Calgary based oil and gas industry. They see Calgary and Alberta as the beachhead market for their new technology in imaging and quantification of methane emissions.
