Economic Development Strategy

The 10-year Calgary Economic Development Strategy shapes everything Calgary Economic Development does, with a focus on people and business.

Economic Development Strategy implementation

Within each objective of the Calgary Economic Development Strategy, specific objectives were identified, as well as the actions to achieve these objectives. As part of the approval of the Strategy, Calgary City Council was also provided an implementation plan. This plan outlines the metrics and timelines for each action and objective, along with any potential partners within both the government and private sectors.

In 2010, an implementation update was produced, highlighting what steps have been taken to achieve the objectives. The chart below outlines which civic partners are responsible for specific objectives, and using a traffic light colour system, assesses to what level each objective is progressing.

The full implementation update provides further detail and updates on each objective.
