An exhibition of short historical and contemporary Canadian Documentary films. Featuring the seminal NFB documentary Pour la Suite du Monde by Pierre Perrault and Michel Brault. The exhibition consists of two short programs on August 24 & 25 at the CSIF Sofa Cinema and culminates with the feature film on August 26 at the Canmore Opera House - Heritage Park Historical Village. Speaker: Jim McCartney, LLB “Any international commercial contract without a properly drafted arbitration clause should be considered incomplete.” J. Brian Casey, author of Arbitration Law of Canada: Practice and Procedures. Jim's presentation will include: - Sources for sample arbitration clauses - The process of international arbitration - Organizations that will administer arbitrations - Enforcement of arbitration awards A lawyer for 35 years, Jim practiced civil litigation involving commercial and tort law at all court levels. He is a Chartered Mediator and Chartered Arbitrator, has been President of the Alberta Arbitration and Mediation society and a Director of the ADR Institute of Canada. Mr. McCartney has been counsel to, and a director of, CPIX Limited since 2005 and became Chairman of the Board in 2009. Jim was a Senior Partner with MacKimmie Matthews Law Firm. Space is limited to 25 participants. Who should attend: Any business that enters into contracts with businesses outside of Canada.
