Global Clean Energy Congress provides opportunities for Alberta SURE companies
The inaugural Global Clean Energy Congress, running November 1-3 at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park, Calgary, provides a global platform to demonstrate, discuss and debate clean energy technologies.
Calgary Economic Development (CED) and Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) are joining forces to bring together the best of what Alberta companies have to offer in the areas of cleaner hydrocarbons, energy efficiency, renewables, on-site energy generation, transportation, and other alternative energies. EEDC and CED are offering Alberta-based small and medium sized enterprises access to the Alberta SURE Pavilion at subsidized rates, as well as value services including access to CED and EEDC market specialists, one-to-one introductions, financing and market advice.
To join the Alberta SURE Pavilion, there are three available options:
3 metre x 3 metre exhibit space – These full-sized spaces offer exceptional exposure for companies from the clean tech sector eager to meet with customers face-to-face. These are ideal for companies showing equipment or requiring more staff on site.
Discounted price: $3,745.00
1.5 metre x 1.5 metre exhibit space – These smaller exhibit spaces offer more space than an Innovation Station to allow companies to have small pieces of equipment or prototypes on site while being very cost effective.
Discounted price: $2,245.00
Innovation Station - The Innovation Stations are small hard-wall Kiosk stations offering newer companies enough space to have both a physical presence on the exhibition floor and the opportunity to network with potential customers, manufacturers, investors and partners. The Innovation Station kiosks offer a cost-effective way for innovators to enter the market.
Discounted price: $775 + GST

October 20 - 21, 2010 - Carbon Finance Conference
Increasingly, carbon emissions are not just the concern of environmental, health and safety staff. They are an important matter for senior management, equity analysts, project financiers, insurers, new financial players, and mainstream institutional investors. All of these investment and industry professionals play a critical role in scrutinizing the effects of carbon constraints on shareholder value and directing the flow of capital efficiently.
Accordingly, the Calgary CFA Society (CCFAS) and Calgary Economic Development (CED) are developing a Carbon Finance conference for the fourth quarter of 2010. The goal of the conference is to keep professionals in Calgary abreast of topical issues related to Carbon Finance and to promote the expediting of business investment, trade development and sustainable growth for the Calgary region.
On March 30, Calgary Economic Development authored a pre-discussion paper for a forum hosted by the Pembina Institute and the Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy (ISEEE). The purpose was to of start a multi-stakeholder discussion on policy options to advance both cogeneration and wind power opportunities in the province of Alberta.
