The Canada China Business Council (CCBC) is the country’s Canada-China bilateral business, trade and investment facilitator, catalyst and advocate. Founded in 1978 as a private, non-profit business association, the CCBC provides unparalleled insight into Canada-China business, trade and investment issues and develops connections that ensure its members’ business success. In addition to its focused and practical services, the CCBC is also the voice of the Canadian business community on issues affecting Canada-China business, trade and investment.

Ontario’s Trade Office in Alberta facilitates business-to-business relationships between companies operating in Alberta’s oil and gas sector and Ontario manufacturers and technology/service providers to increase economic activity between the two provinces.
Our office promotes and leads delegations of Ontario companies at industry events in Alberta and provides networking opportunities based on Alberta buyers’ needs and Ontario suppliers’ capabilities.
Based in Calgary, Ontario’s In-Market Trade Development Representative (IMTDR) works with Alberta companies to identify their needs, specifications and requirements and collaborates with the Toronto-based Energy Connections team that identifies capable suppliers. The IMTDR also manages stakeholder relationships with all levels of the Alberta government and industry associations.
Kinetica was launched in 2015 following an announcement made by the Government of Canada to provide $3 million in funding over the next five years to Innovate Calgary to develop an energy technology accelerator program. This funding is part of the Canada Accelerator and Incubator Program (CAIP), which is also providing funding support for TEC Edmonton’s health accelerator initiative.
Powered by Innovate Calgary, Kinetica bridges the gap between the energy industry and technology innovators. It is a uniquely industry-driven program, working closely with key partners in the energy sector to identify their most pressing challenges in four areas: hydrocarbon recovery; energy transport; carbon capture, re-use and disposal; and renewable energy.
