Calgary continues to be the western head office capital of Canada - moreover, it is the head office capital of Canada on a per capita basis.

Calgary has experienced a 55.7 per cent growth in major head offices over the past ten years (2001-2010 revenue) - 123 Calgary-based companies are in the FP500 database, nine of which are among the top 50 in Canada.

Calgary had the highest concentration of head offices among the Census Metropolitan Areas of Canada. For the 2001 revenue year, it boasted 8.1 major corporate headquarters per 100,000 population. By 2010, it reached a concentration of 9.9 head offices per 100,000 population.
