Upcoming Trade Missions
Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth Oil & Gas Trade Mission - October 2012
Like Alberta, Australia is rich in gas deposits and has been experiencing strong growth in this sector. Alberta companies possess many of the products and services that would support the Australian oil and gas industry. Calgary Economic Development (CED), working in conjunction with Austrade, the states of Queensland, Western Australia and cities of Brisbane and Perth has developed a trade mission to match Alberta companies with Australian producers to explore trade opportunities.
Target participants
This mission is aimed at companies who are looking to develop trade relationships in the Australian unconventional gas sector.

Centrallia Small Business Matchmaking Forum - October 10 -12, 2012
Calgary Economic Development, through its Global Business Centre, is recruiting companies to join a delegation of businesses from the Southern Alberta region to attend Centralia - a business to business matchmaking forum in Winnipeg October 10-12, 2012. Centrallia is the largest North American business matchmaking forum and builds on the highly successful Futuralia movement across the world where participants are strategically matched to participate in a series of one-on-one meetings during a two-and-a-half trilingual (English, French and Spanish) forum on international trade (centrallia.com). A number of side events, networking lunches and receptions are also part of the program elements. Centralia, described by some as “speed dating” for businesses, attracts hundreds of high-level business decision-makers from around the world.

Previous Trade Missions
Colombia Trade Mission - May 27 - June 1, 2012
After a successful trade mission to Colombia in November 2011, Calgary Economic Development invites you to join us on another technical trade mission to Colombia in May 2012. In response to requests from Ecopetrol and other operators in Colombia, Calgary Economic Development is organizing a trade mission that will bring much needed service companies to the country to fill gaps in service, increase competition and decrease high service fees. The majority of operators in Colombia are Canadian companies (30 out of 40 operators are Canadian).
Hong Kong & Beijing Investment Mission - June 2012
Following a highly successful 2011 business mission to China, Calgary Economic Development is leading a follow up mission focused on investment attraction to Hong Kong and Beijing in June 2012. The focus will be on attracting investment into Alberta in the energy and real estate sectors.
This mission is aimed at companies seeking investment from Asia, in particular China, who operate in upstream oil and gas, midstream operators and real estate companies (industrial, residential, multifamily and commercial focus).
