City Magnets II - January 13, 2010

The Conference Board of Canada released a report titled "City Magnets II: Benchmarking the Attractiveness of 50 Canadian Cities". Calgary was identified as one of the top six cities that is most appealing to migrants, based on seven categories: Society, Health, Economy, Environment, Education, Innovation, and Housing. China Business: Taking the Next Step - March 1, 2010

The Global Business Centre declares March as ýChina in Focusý with the inagural event being held on March 1, 2010. China has just surpassed Germany as the worldýs leading manufacturer and exporter and the Canada China Business Council, in conjunction with KPMG, are hosting a half day seminar entitled ýChina Business: Taking the Next Step".

Calgary Artists for Haitian Relief - March 10, 2010

In response to the tragedy unfolding in Haiti, the City of Calgary contacted representatives from CADA, Cantos, the EPCOR Centre, Calgary Economic Development, Calgary Downtown Association, the Calgary Stampede, Axis Gallery and a number of local visual and performing artists to discuss creative ways in which the arts community in Calgary could contribute to the recovery efforts.

On March 10, 2010 Calgary artists will join together at the Jack Singer Concert Hall at Epcor Centre in a fundraising effort for Haitian relief. All ticket proceeds will be going directly to a Haitian charity to fund the rebuild of Le Foyer de Filles Chretiennes Orphanage in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Tickets for the event are $25 and available online through tickets.epcorcentre.org

Global Business Centre Breakfast Club - March 25, 2010

Join Gary Slipp, Global Business Centre Manager, for an introduction to Calgary Economic Development's Global Business Centre. The GBC will officially launch in June, but this event will give an overview for the Centre and allow participants the opportunity to tour the space.
