Attracting talent to Calgary with a Mayor-led mission

Calgary Economic Development, in support of participating Calgary employers including the City of Calgary, will be promoting Calgary as a destination of choice for workers at the Opportunities Canada Expo in Leeds and London, England in June.

The events are dedicated to helping Canadian companies recruit skilled workers from the United Kingdom. It’s widely acknowledged that along with increased worker training and productivity enhancements, immigration will be a significant element in resolving Calgary’s skill and labour shortage.More >

Upcoming Events
Best Employers Award for 50 Plus Canadians nominations are open until June 1. The awards recognize organizations for innovative initiatives that engage 50+ workers while meeting organizational goals. The awards will be presented at the fourth annual Summit on the Mature Workforce to be held in Calgary on November 5th.

The Talent Pool Development Society is joining with Alberta Employment and Immigration's International Qualifications Assessment Service to develop tools to enable employers to efficiently and easily assess the foreign qualifications of professional/skilled immigrants. The first step in the process is to determine employer needs and to educate employers on the work of IQAS.
