Funding Partners

Action Calgary: It will engage participating businesses in projects that will benefit both their own companies, and their own community. It's corporate engagement, participation and investment with a solid business payback.

Action Calgary is a CED-led program to engage Calgary's corporate community in a partnership to deliver results, beginning with strategic projects that support business and employment growth and diversification.

All participating partner companies will benefit. As a partner, you'll be in a position to align your own particular business interests with the CED projects. You'll have exclusive opportunities to provide feedback and direction for Calgary's economic future.

You'll have other, very tangible, market penetration and revenue enhancement advantages too.

For example, access to high value business profile and showcasing opportunities. Business tools.

National and international networks and contacts.

Plus you'll have a very important intangible benefit: the pride that comes from leading the future of your own community.

All projects fall under three strategic Action Calgary initiatives identified in the Calgary Economic Development Strategy:

1. Workforce development and productivity
a. Think Calgary: workforce attraction and settlement
b. WORKshift: the Calgary Region Telework Initiative
c. Productivity Alberta: Industry productivity initiative

2. Industry development and diversification
a. Energy Centre: Calgary as THE global energy centre
b. Enhanced sector development initiatives
c. Real estate development and investment attraction

3. Extending our international reach
a. Global Business Centre

These initiatives have been specifically designed to meet challenges faced by businesses here in Calgary, but will need funding from those same businesses.As an Action Calgary partner, you'll be making an investment to ensure your own head start position in Calgarys emerging global economy. And you'll participate with other visionary leaders in making an investment in the future of the community in which you live and do business. Your private sector investment will leverage other incremental government funding for innovative, made-in-Calgary-for-Calgary projects.

But without the participation and partnership of the business community, these initiatives cannot and will not happen.
